REGISTRATION
- All participants must be pursuing undergraduate studies in any private or public university in Malaysia or Program Partner Universities (Foreign).
- A participant may join solo or form a team of maximum five (5) members.
- For teams with more than one (1) member, the team is required to elect a team leader.
- All participants, including team leader and members, are required to register an account. The e-mail provided during registration must be your student e-mail.
- All members of the team must attend the same university.
- A V Hack Pack will be sent to registered and verified participants on 24th March to provide further details and resources.
- Participants should understand the rules stated in the Rules and regulations and will abide by them fully throughout the competition.
PLATFORMS
- All participants are required to have a Discord account.
- The MAIN program platform that will be used throughout the hackathon is Cisco Webex Meetings. Participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the usage of this platform prior to the event to ease their participation journey.
- All participants must change their Webex username to the following naming convention before entering the Webex rooms:
Team [number]_[Name] (Example: Team V001_Jeremy) - Team number will be provided before the event starts.
PRELIMINARY ROUND
- There will be five (5) case studies to choose from to develop your project. You will be required to state the case study of your choice when submitting your project.
- The case studies will be released on 24th March 2022 and the team leader must select one before 27th March 2022. If no case study is chosen, a random case study will be chosen for the team
- Only the team leader is required to submit the project via the team leader’s account.
- The deadline to submit the project is 28th March 2022, 5.00PM.
- The submission of your project will be done through our in-house platform at the website. Submission materials required:
- Project name & selected case study
- Project description
- Briefly explain the problem you are trying to solve, and how your solution works.
- YouTube link of a video presentation explaining your project
- Maximum duration: 10 minutes
- Video visibility: Unlisted or Public
- Video title: VHACK2022 [TEAM NO] [PROJECT NAME]
- Team number will be given after the registration closes.
- The video must contain:
- Chosen case study and why
- Proposed solution
- Prototype demonstration recording
- Business model
- Market segment
- Competitor Analysis
- Team members introduction
- What’s next for your project
- Video Guidelines
- The minimum number of presenters in the video is one. You may have all members or some members to present your project.
- The presenter(s) who are speaking must have their face shown in the video.
- You are allowed to edit the video and audio freely.
- Please make sure that the video and audio is clear and audible.
- Only human speech is allowed in the video, any kind of voice generators will lead to team disqualification.
- There is NO limitation for the number of slides as long as your pitch stays within the time limit.
- Your marks will be deducted if the stated guidelines are not followed and/or it violates the Rules & Regulations.

- The Top 15 shortlisted teams to enter the final round will be released and contacted via e-mail on 31st March 2022.
FINAL ROUND – PITCHING DAY
- The Top 15 teams are required to submit their latest pitching slides and Figma Link by 1st April 2022, 3.00PM.
- All 15 teams will be assigned a time slot to pitch their projects live on 2nd April 2022. Each team will be guided by a dedicated facilitator.
- Pitching duration for each team is 7 minutes.
- At the 6-minute 45-second mark, the bell will be sounded once to serve as a reminder for the team to wrap up their pitch.
- At the 7-minute mark, the bell will be sounded twice to indicate the end of the pitch.
- There will be a 3-minute Q&A session.
- The Awards ceremony will be held live on 3rd April 2022.
Miscellaneous Information
- We may, in sole discretion disqualify your and/or your team with any reason including but not limited to violating the rules and Code of Conduct of the Competition, providing invalid information to the Organizer, breaking any national law and regulation or other unsporting behavior.
- The Organizers reserves the right to revise, make exceptions to, or otherwise amend these guidelines in whole or in part.
